Meet Dumpling: From a Drawer to a Safe Forever Home

We’d love to introduce you to Dumpling, our newest rescued bunny — and one very special girl.

Before coming to Animal Tracks, Dumpling was bred as a meat rabbit. Even more heartbreaking, she was living confined inside a drawer, without the space, stimulation, or care that rabbits desperately need to thrive. Sadly, stories like Dumpling’s are far more common than most people realize.

Dumpling’s journey is an important reminder of why responsible animal care and informed decision-making matter so deeply. Too often, animals are acquired without fully understanding their needs — how much space they require, how social they are, and how long-term the commitment truly is. Rabbits, like all animals, are sentient beings who need room to move, explore, bond, and feel safe.

Despite her difficult beginnings, Dumpling is incredibly sweet, gentle, and comfortable around humans. She has a calm, loving presence that instantly wins hearts, and it’s clear she’s grateful to finally have space, enrichment, and kindness.

Soon, Dumpling will be joining our happy bunny family — Ginger, Miso, Wonton, and Tofu — where she’ll be able to run, socialize, and live the life every rabbit deserves.

We’re so thankful she’s now safe, loved, and cared for, and we hope her story inspires more compassion and awareness about what animals truly need before bringing them into our lives.

Come meet Dumpling and all of our rescued animals at the sanctuary!

Every visit helps support their care and spreads the message of empathy, responsibility, and respect for all beings.
