In January 2021, Tara arrived at Animal Tracks Sanctuary at the age of 26, bringing with her a lifetime of stories and a gentle spirit that touched everyone she met. A retired movie actor, Tara had graced the screens in "Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl" and "Babe, Pig in the City".

Diagnosed at a mid-stage lymphoma, Tara's journey at the sanctuary has been one of resilience and hope. With the loving care of our dedicated team and regular visits to the veterinarian, Tara is treated with CBD oil and a wholesome diet tailored to her needs. Despite the challenges, her condition has shown promising stability, giving us optimism for the years ahead!

At Animal Tracks Sanctuary, Tara found friends, love, medical care, and a community. She shares her days with Ember, a fellow capuchin who has taken on the role of caregiver with unmatched devotion. While mutual grooming is typical among capuchins, Ember has embraced Tara as her queen, showering her with kindness and support.

Tara's story reminds us of the resilience of animals and the power of companionship. In Ember's and the sanctuary's gentle care, Tara has found a family. Each day is a testament to her spirit and the bonds that transcend species.

As we continue to cherish each moment with Tara, we invite you to join us in celebrating her journey by visiting us!

Together, we can make a difference in the lives of creatures like Tara, offering them not just care, but a chance to thrive in dignity and love. Tara's journey is a reminder that every individual, regardless of their past or condition, deserves a future filled with compassion and hope.

Join us in honoring Tara's resilience and the enduring bonds that define our sanctuary's mission!
